Tips For Great Movies Of Your Kid

1. Stand By For Daily Action

For kids, every day is full of adventure and unpredictable events. We want to capture their lives as they really are, and don't want to miss a precious second!

Kids play, cry, eat, nap, and everything else. Just shoot their everyday lives. While printed pictures preserve great moments, moving pictures and sound capture real life, creating timeless treasures for your child.

2. Getting The Shooting Posture

Take a relaxed stance when shooting so it's easy to look into the display and see where action will lead. Kneel down so you're on the same level as a child. In this basic posture, you can hold a camera still without jerky up and down motion, and easily follow a child in action. It's easy to shoot in a lower position using a rotating LCD display.

3. Pace Your Camera Work

When shooting movies of kids in motion, your first impulse is to move along with them. But you should stay in the same spot to shoot, preventing "camera shake". With close-up shots of a kid, it's easy to "lose" a subject in the frame. Just stick to wide shots until you get used to shooting.

4. Shoot At A Kid's Eye Level

By shooting at this level, you can capture the details of facial expressions and endearing gestures. If you shoot from an adult's eye level, you will capture shots of the head, rather than the face. Or you can intentionally shoot from your own eye level if you want to capture kids in their activities, such as drawing. With a high-level shot, you capture what they're doing, creating very interesting movies.

5. Aim For Natural Facial Expressions

The best moment to get vivid, natural facial expressions is when kids are not paying attention to the camera and focusing on some other activity, such as eating or play. When you want to take close-up shots of kids, take time for conversation. This will bring out softer facial expressions and help ensure clear focus.

6. Taking Shots Of Sleeping Faces

When taking shots of kids asleep, the Handycam NightShot® Plus function is very convenient. It captures virtually real color tones, and avoids blurry images, even when shooting in a dark room.

7. Make Your Favourite Movies More Fun

Just add background music and visual effects, and turn a kid's movie into a video clip worthy of movie masters! Don't worry if you feel like you don't know anything about video editing. You're in good hands with Picture Package™ software. Once the movie is finished, you can burn it onto CD-R. Your movie will make a great gift for grandparents, who are sure to love it!
